HOW DOES A GUARDIAN AD LITEM WORK?

As you're reading this, you're probably exasperated trying to reach decisions regarding your children that you can live with. Fret no more. A Guardian ad Litem investigates and evaluates each parent's parenting style, bond with the child, ability to parent, availability, among many other factors. A Guardian ad Litem (GAL) will speak with friends, family members, teachers, therapists, and anyone else that may help inform the recommendations. After meeting with each party, and also with each party and the child(ren), the guardian will make a recommendation that is in the best interest of the child(ren).
