GUARDIAN AD LITEM | FAMILY LAW CASES

At the practice of Dr. Netta Shaked,  SOUTH BEACH PSYCHOLOGIST® and Guardian ad Litem, we know the emotional side of family law. We are experienced and highly knowledgeable with the often painful processes of divorce, paternity actions, time-sharing, creating parenting plans, co-parenting, family law and using a Guardian ad Litem. Through services of our Guardian ad Litem in Miami Beach, we act in the best interest of the child, as next friend of the child, evaluator or investigator. Whether you and your child(ren) are struggling during the divorce, whether there are questions about the child's residence, or whether you or the other parent is considering relocation, we are here to act in the best interest of your child(ren). Using our unique clinical psychology training and skills, we investigate and then make recommendations in your child's best interest. We can make recommendations about parental responsibility, residence of the children, time-sharing schedules, relocation, and/or even appearance of children at depositions/hearings. We can help promote the best interest of your child during this time of major transition and change. To learn more about the Florida Statute on Guardian ad Litem click here.

WHY USE DR. NETTA SHAKED AS YOUR GUARDIAN AD LITEM?

  •  You get a psychologist guardian ad litem who investigates and makes recommendations. Psychologists have unique interviewing skills, and can pick up on mental health issues or red flags that a non-psychologist guardian may overlook.
  • Your child's best interest, from the perspective of a psychologist, is at the forefront of recommendations made to the Court. Psychologists consider the whole family system, in addition to the child's age and developmental stage when evaluating and making recommendations.
  • Investigation conducted by a licensed psychologist, with knowledge and expertise of how family law cases impact every member of the family.
  • Less conflict and more harmony for your children... for the children's sake. Research shows that it's not the parents' separation, but it is the conflict, which harms children the most.

HOW DOES A GUARDIAN AD LITEM WORK?

As you're reading this, you're probably exasperated trying to reach decisions regarding your children that you can live with. Fret no more. A Guardian ad Litem investigates and evaluates each parent's parenting style, bond with the child, ability to parent, availability, among many other factors. A Guardian ad Litem (GAL) will speak with friends, family members, teachers, therapists, and anyone else that may help inform the recommendations. After meeting with each party, and also with each party and the child(ren), the guardian will make a recommendation that is in the best interest of the child(ren).
